The siege of Hochosterwitz Castle
Have you ever visited a knight festival? If not, you will have the opportunity in August. At the foot of Hochosterwitz Castle, the area where the horses were once taken care of will be transformed into a medieval market place from August 12th to 15th, 2023. People in medieval robes, brave knights and damsels move between hard-working craftsmen who display their work and whom visitors can watch live at work.
Opening hours:
10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The knights’ festival takes place in the square in the valley. The regular opening times apply to the castle itself.
Battles and Show Fights
Spectacular battles and mystical fire shows in the market area make the trip to the Knights’ Festival an experience. Have you ever followed a jousting tournament? At the Knights’ Festival in the square below Hochosterwitz Castle, you have the opportunity to experience knights, damsels, jugglers and a beautiful market – a festival with excitement, games, music, a special medieval market and culinary delights. Don’t miss out, come by and experience the Middle Ages!

During the day an exciting program awaits with jurisdictions, captivating exhibition fights, sword fighting training, medieval games and varied entertainment for children.

The knight festival takes place in the square in the valley and is open from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The regular opening hours apply to the castle itself. All tickets will soon be available via OETICKET.
